Technical Support Specialist - Unix, Windows, SQL - North London * Hertfordshire Borders - £Basic up to £30k package upto £45k plus excellent benefits.
Technical Support Specialist urgently required. You will provide technical support in UNIX, Windows, Active Directory and Exchange along with VPN. The infrastructure to support consists of a complex network including LANs at various office locations and inter-office VPNs, secure RAS servers, firewalls, Internet proxies, and connections into customer LANs. Over 1000 systems running a variety of Unix and Windows 2000, XP, 2003, XP, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX and Linux, as both development machines and test environments. Corporate services including Active Directory, Exchange 2003 email systems, SQL database servers, IIS web servers, data backup systems, automated patch management, file and print services, secure authentication, and DNS. This is an opportunity to use and develop skills in an environment with state of the art hardware, using the latest processors and technologies. As the successful candidate, you will need to be able to understand and support UNIX, Windows and most of the technologies in my client`s infrastructure, troubleshoot and fix problems, set up and install new systems, participate in projects to extend and enhance our systems and services, contribute to the strategic development of our IT infrastructure, by being conversant with the latest computer and networking technology and communicate effectively with users at all levels of the organisation, using both the written and spoken word.
